Since the charge for carrier bags came in to force people have become a lot more organised when it comes to the weekly food shop. Re-using carriers or investing in a proper shopping bag are what most people do but there is another option.
These trolley bags have been around for a while now and, so far, they seem to be an idea people are taking to?
They come in sets of 4 and are designed to fit a standard shopping trolley. They save a lot faffing about at the checkout and are perfect if you do this newfangled self-scan thing. Each bag measures 65cm wide and will safely hold up to 15kg.
There are a couple of downsides though. Firstly, the bottom of the bags are a stretchy fabric mesh and this can make the bags difficult to handle when they are full. Also, because the bags are so easy to transport inside a trolley it is easy to over do it and then struggle to transfer them into the boot of your car.
That said, they are a neat idea and most people seem to get on with them just fine. There’s also a new range of bags designed to fit the smaller ‘express’ trolleys. So, if you’re not a big shopper, you might be better off with this size.
