As an interactive toy LEGO bricks are, just about, the best thing ever designed. But when it comes to storage and organisation they can be an absolute nightmare!
Storage solutions for all those tiny pieces are many and varied but can be split into two categories. Those adapted to suit, such as plastic drawers, and those which are purpose designed, such as the examples below.
BOX4BLOX Toy Brick Storage & Sorter – a clever storage system that sorts all different sizes of brick with a quick shake. The smallest bricks work there way to the bottom and the largest bricks stay on top. Available with 3 or 4 trays and priced at around £40 from amazon.com
Lego Storage Bricks – these storage containers fashioned in the style of a classic Lego brick come in a range of sizes and colours. And, just like the real bricks, they’re stackable too. Prices range from £7.99 – £51.64
Lego Storage Head – a cute head shaped container with a lift off lid. These heads look great in a kid’s room and are ideal for keeping lots of assorted size bricks, or just for general storage. From £28.29
Lego Sort and Store – the same head design but has the benefit of 3 sections with a grid in the base. So you can just throw in all your loose bricks, give it a shake and they’ll be sorted into small, medium and large sizes. * These are quite difficult to get hold of now so expect to pay a premium.
LEADSTAR Large Toy Storage Bag – a simple but effective solution, this large play mat has a drawstring closure so when they have finished playing you just pull it closed to make a carry bag. Available in 3 colours. 150 cm diameter. £23.99 from amazon.co.uk
