A wardrobe made from plastic may not be your idea of a perfect clothes storage solution but these modular kits, from German company Songmics, are certainly original. Available in a range of sizes they are made up from square plastic panels that you put together yourself with the aid of slotted round connectors.
The kit that makes up the black wardrobe above includes 40 black panels, 8 semi-transparent doors with handles and magnetic closures, 40 slotted connectors and 1 hanging rail.
This kit includes 63 clear plastic panels, 12 doors with magnetic closures and 2 hanging rails.
There are a number of different sized units available, including matching shoe racks via amazon
Although probably not suitable as a main wardrobe these units may be useful for overspill storage in a spare room or for temporary accommodation where you need something simple and don’t want to lay out a lot of cash?
The panels have a wire frame which acts as a reinforcement so the units are fairly study when built. The pieces slot together without the need for tools so you don’t need to be a DIY expert to put them together, even though the instructions are all in German 🙂
